MadBid Review - Can you really grab bargains
at low prices or is it just a big scam?

The adverts make it all look so promising.....an iPhone 4 sold for £32.12, a 3D TV for £62.76, a brand new car for just £117.52 - surely there must be a catch? Well hold tight as my MadBid review is about to reveal all about this unique style of buying goods at supposedly bargain prices.

Overall I would have to say I have been very impressed with MadBid. I wasn't expecting much from it when I joined, in fact I had fully accepted I would lose my money but I figured it was worth a shot anyway.

To my surprise I found that I actually started winning auctions in my first week, and I don't mean small auctions I mean things like a 3D TV, iPhone 4, and a Ipod Nano. All of this for just a couple of hundred quid!

So if you want to start bagging items at a fraction of their normal cost, give MadBid a try (if you need a winning strategy then keep reading).

How Does MadBid Work?

MadBid Penny AuctionsMadBid is what is called a 'Penny Auction' site. The way it works is quite straight forward, an item goes up for sale with a time limit on it.

People can place bids on the item during the time limit. Every time a bid is placed, the timer resets and the price of the item goes up by 1p (hence the name 'Penny Auction').

So as an example, let us say that MadBid put a TV up for auction. It may start off with a time limit of 1 minute and a price of 1p.

After 30 seconds someone may place a bid, the price would then rise up to 2p and the timer would reset to 1 minute. Put simply, the auction ends when the timer reaches zero and the winner will be the last person who placed a bid.

As an added feature my MadBid.com review can reveal that over time the auction timers reduce down to just 10 seconds. For example if the TV in the example above reached a certain amount (let's say £10.01) then the timer would be reduced down to 45 seconds instead of a minute and so on until the timer is set to only 10 seconds.

So is MadBid a Scam?

I have to address the question that I know most people ask (I asked it myself) - is MadBid.com a scam?

MadBid ScamAt first glance you may think it is, after all they are selling high value products for under £100, even under £10 or a £1 in many cases. It makes you wonder what the catch is. Truth be told there is a catch, that catch is that every time you bid it will cost you a credit (around 10p).

So of course, if you bid a lot of times you end up paying more than just the £10 or whatever the final end price of the item is. This is how MadBid make their money, basically you can multiple the final selling price by 10 to see how much MadBid have made from the sale.

However, this doesn't mean you have to waste £100's to get that item you want. There is a winning MadBid strategy you can use that will ensure you spend as few credits as possible and get the item you really want.....

How to Win MadBid Auctions

One thing I was able to do with MadBid quite quickly was develop a strategy for winning MadBid auctions.

I am not going to promise that you will get items for a matter of a few pence with this strategy - anyone who promises that is not being honest.

However, what I can say is that my MadBid strategy can help you to get even high value, in-demand products for as little as possible. In fact, here is what I won in a 1 week period at the beginning of August (all with just £200 worth of credits):How to win MadBid auctions

  • Samsung 3D TV + Blu-Ray Player (RRP £700) - I paid just £56.09
  • iPhone 4 16GB (RRP £499) - Mine for just £89.06
  • 16GB iPod Nano (RRP £150) - I got it for just £19.59
  • Nilfisk Pressure Washer (£130) - Including shipping just £8.95
  • REVLON Fire&Ice Aftershave (RRP £25) - Only cost me £1.82
  • Restaurant Discount Card (RRP £70) - I paid £4.51

Those prices all include shipping too, so in total I got £1,575 worth of stuff for just £380.02 (Including bid costs)......

That is almost £1,200 worth of savings and all in just 1 week!

My MadBid Strategy Revealed

I'll be honest with you, my MadBid strategy is not for everyone. If you are looking for a way to win MadBid auctions instantly and without hardly spending a penny then this is not it (in fact I do not believe such a strategy exists otherwise everyone would be doing it!).

However, if you are prepared to part with a small amount of cash and put in some time and effort (around 15 minutes or more) then this is a strategy that works - as I have shown in the previous section.

The basic rules of the strategy are:

  • Do not enter bidding wars with more than 1 other bidder
  • Look for auctions with a time of 20 seconds or less
  • Always bid in the last 2-3 seconds of an auction
  • Try and bid at non-peak times (e.g. weekday mornings and afternoons)

So let us discuss the MadBid strategy in more detail.....

Firstly do not enter bidding wars with more than 1 other bidder - if you do you will burn your credits very quickly and will be left with nothing. Instead, if you can clearly see there are several people all bidding for an item, go and make yourself a cuppa and come back later.

MadBid StrategyWhen you come back the auction will hopefully still be running (if not don't worry, wait for the next one) and you can sit and watch for a while.

Wait for the other bidders to burn away their bids. This will be especially fast if the auction timer is set to 20 seconds or less (10 seconds is preferred).

Try and remember the names of the bidders you keep seeing bid and then look for when their name stops appearing. Doing this helps you to understand how many bidders you are up against.

Once you are only seeing a couple of names appearing all the time then start watching very carefully and get ready to click 'Bid Now'.

When the timer approaches 2 seconds make sure you bid to avoid missing out. Eventually you will hopefully realise it is only you and one other person who keeps bidding (occasionally others may jump in but that's fine as long as there are not many others bidding, if so then relax again and let them use up their bids). At this point you are close to winning as you only need one other bidder to use up their bids and the item is yours.

This is the way I have won all of my auctions. It takes some time and patience as well as judgement but my experience shows that it is highly effective. You can further increase your chances by bidding at off-peak times such as during the weekday daytime, choosing auctions for less popular items, and looking at the prices an item usually sells for and joining an auction as it surpasses that normal selling price.

MadBid Review - Summary

MadBid ReviewWhen I started my MadBid review I was expecting it to lead to me saying that it was very hard to win and was close to a scam.

However, I actually found out that with the right strategy and approach, you can actually do very well from it and grab some absolute bargains.

If you had told me a few weeks ago I would have saved over £1,000 on items such as a SD TV, iPhone, and iPod I would not have believed it.

However, as my strategy shows, anything is possible as long as you follow the right rules and system.

So no, MadBid is definately not a scam. However, some people will win and some people will lose out as is the nature of it. But now you know the secrets to winning, there is nothing to stop you joining MadBid and enjoying similar success as a MadBid auction winner.
